EVGA revealed the SC17 1070 gaming laptop, which comes equipped with a GTX 1070 GPU and an unlocked i7 CPU. This 4K ready and a high performance laptop was meticulously created from the ground up for the hardcore gamer, performance enthusiast, and overclocker.
SC17 1070 Features:
EVGA said the SC17 1070 has been designed with overclocking in mind. This laptop features an unlocked Intel Core i7-6820HK processor, and GTX 1070 has headroom for overclocking. The SC17 also features a full GUI BIOS with mouse support which lets you take manual control of the details such as voltage, multiplier and memory timings. This laptop even includes a clear CMOS button on the chassis in case you push your hardware too far.
SC17 1070 Specification:
The other specifications include 32 GB of G.Skill DDDR4 SO-DIMM memory, Samsung’s 256 GB M.2 NVMe SSD paired up with 1TB SATA 6Gbps HDD for the storage, one USB 3.1 Type C port and a couple of USB 3.0 Type-A, full-sized keyboard with the white backlight and Synaptics Clickpad 1.5 touchpad.
EVGA isn’t saying much about cooling, but maintains that the SC17 is the ‘world’s first TRUE overclocking laptop.’ It is also svelte for all of the power packed inside—it measures just under 1.07 inches in thickness, though it weighs 10 pounds.
EVGA built its own power supply–in a new form factor–to handle the power requirements of overclockable CPU and GPU. EVGA said that it is capable of delivering ‘up to 240 watt of power when needed, without compromising battery life.’
SC17 1070 Price & Release Date:
EVGA has not yet released details on pricing or a release date for SC17 1070 but we doubt this laptop will be too cheap, though the company is promising the inclusion of a free mouse and custom backpack as purchase accessories. You can also read about pcpartpicker here
