An Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing from Asus reveals that the next ZenWatch, called the ZenWatch 3 and it is going to be a round device, moving away from the company’s history of releasing square Android Wear watches. Both the ZenWatch and ZenWatch 2 were equipped with a square screen.

Very little else is revealed about the ZenWatch 3 in the FCC listing, at least when it comes to the design or hardware specifications. However, it is revealed that we’ll see a watch equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and a stainless steel back which ships with a 5V 2A (10 watt) charger in the box.

As well as its shape, other things that can be gleaned from the pictures include confirmation that the Zenwatch 3 will not have the contactless charging. There are two golden contacts on the rear that suggest it’ll need to be connected to a charging ring.

It’s hard to tell exactly how stylish it may (or may not) be without a closer look, but the three-button design sets it apart from a lot of the other watches. And its two-tone bronze color scheme is… well, it also looks like the watch could be on the thicker side, with its lugs jutting downward so it won’t appear to sit so high.

The design of this lugs is unusual; they’re large and jut out from the body of the watch rather far. Although, they also extend down from the bottom of the watch a bit, which usually makes for a better fit on the small wrists. It looks like a solid improvement over the ZenWatch 2 design, but we’ll have to wait for the announcement to get a better look.
